The Beginning
Bend Web Solutions began one morning while two friends were having coffee. Woody Beverley, a former Microsoft software engineer turned small business owner, and Justin Clapick, a young entrepreneur, were talking about websites. Woody says, "Hey Clappy, my business landlord asked me about doing a website for him the other day. It's been a while since I played around with website stuff and I know you did a couple of E-Commerce sites recently. I'm sure I can put together the standard stuff for him, but I haven't done anything with e-commerce. Justin puts down the Source newspaper and replies, "Yeah, it's not that bad once you get the hang of it. There are some good hosting sites that make it pretty easy." Woody crinkles his forehead as he thinks about doing the work and then asks, "How much do you think Web designers in the area charge for a small website?" Justin says, "In the neighborhood of four to five thousand." Shocked, Woody chokes on his coffee and blurts out, "What!!? You're kidding me, right? That's too much!"
